Kaza Safari lodge (previously known as Impalila Island Lodge) is on the Impalila Island. This is at the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. A well-known point where four countries namely meet. Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and Botswana. The lodge only has 8 chalets with spectacular views over the Chobe River and the Mambova rapids.This is a perfect Lodge for those who enjoys the privacy of a small lodge. You will experience personalized service that is well deserved on your African safari holiday.

Kaza Safari lodge is surrounded by water and the bird life is phenomenal. This is truly one of the most private lodges in and around the Chobe National Park. The large thatched roof has a homely feeling to the lodge. The ideal location is perfect for some of the best sunset views in Chobe National Park. The large baobab adds to the views from the lodge.

Kaza Safari lodge is on an island. Tender boats will collect you from the mainland and transport you to Impalila Island.

ACCOMMODATION:

6 river-facing wood and thatched chalets, which can be either double or twin bedded.

2 woodlands/ swamp facing wood and thatched chalets, which can be either double or twin bedded.

Each Chalet features:

  • Ceiling fans, gauze screen doors and mosquito netting

ACTIVITIES:

  • Morning Zambezi River Safari cruise (08:00 to 11:00)includes conservancy fees, tea, coffee, biscuits or rusks and bottled water.
  • Afternoon Zambezi River Safari & Sunset cruise (15:30 to 18:30) includes conservancy fees, snacks, soft drinks, local spirits, beers, wines and bottled water.
  • Afternoon Cultural & Sunset Boat Cruise on the Zambezi River (15:30 to 18:30) includes snacks, soft drinks, local spirits, beers, wines and bottled water.
  • Fishing: conventional and fly fishing.  Basic tackle will be provided but it is suggested that serious fisherman bring their own equipment.  Lost lures will be charged for.
  • Guided walks on the island including afro-botanical walks, cultural village walks and a walk to a 2000 year old Baobab.
  • Ox cart tours.
  • Birding walks.

Note: All activities are about 3 hours in duration.

  • A morning Chobe Game Drive is included free of charge for guests who stay 2 nights or longer.  This includes water and road transfers (immigration formalities will apply).  Park fees, water and soft drinks are included.

ACTIVITY NOTES:

  • Activities can be arranged on a private basis (3 hours in duration including 25 litres of fuel per room per day-any extras to be settled direct.)
  • Should guests wish to extend their activity (e.g. fishing) a surcharge of R250 per person per hour will be levied (non-commissionable).
  • $50pp (non-commissionable) will be levied should guests wish to return to Kasane Immigration for a day activity – water transfers take approximately 45 min one way.
