CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
This 7 Day Advanced Chobe Wildlife Photography safari is for guests who have total confidence to photograph on full manual, aperture and shutter priorities and their DSLR cameras and lenses. No basics will be covered on this workshop as guests will also be expected to have their gear with them and have a concise understanding of their functions and settings. Adequate knowledge of post-production will also be an advantage during the mid-day editing sessions.
This 7 Day Advanced Chobe Photography Safari will be hosted by detailed resident guides Janine Krayer, Charl Stols and Sabine Stols. The location of this workshop will be on the Chobe River and the Okavango Delta. The highlights of this workshop will include the Chobe Photo boats and the Pangolin Khwai camp.
N.B. Please note that in 2019 there are no extra charges for solo travellers wanting to take part in this workshop.
The workshop will be for a maximum of 8 clients over seven days, and the photo hosts will share their insights, techniques and extensive knowledge of animal behaviour – all of the components of a great wildlife photographer.
As we know wildlife photography is never predictable so we cannot set out a syllabus as such but the hosts will endeavour to help, you master some of the following techniques as each opportunity presents itself on the river.
During the day the hosts will be on hand to help you with your digital post production. Guests should bring their laptops loaded with either Lightroom or Photoshop to benefit most from these sessions. They will be held around the dining room table as a group exercise, but there will be plenty of time for one-on-one training on specific post-production techniques if required.
The first part of the workshop will take place in the Chobe staying at The Pangolin Chobe Hotel. The majority of activities will be on the river shooting alongside the photo host. During the day the editing suite will be reserved for group post-production sessions.
On the fourth day four, you will join a charter flight on board which is inclusive in your package. This will take only an hour and a half to the Khwai Private Reserve. This Reserve is 200 000ha and is home to the Pangolin Khwai Camp. On the reserve, you will mostly be doing land-based activities in two of our modified game viewers. Each vehicle will take a maximum of four guests. Your photo host will rotate between the two with each morning or afternoon game drive.
We are confident that at the end of your advanced Wildlife photography workshop, you will see a remarkable improvement in your overall skill and knowledge. We are convinced that you have enjoyed every part of your wildlife experience.
