Duma Tau Camp

Duma Tau Camp gets its name from the Setswana word for roaring lion. The camp is set in the Linyanti region, bordering on the Chobe National Park. The camp is on the edge of the Osprey Lagoon. The abundance of wildlife frequenting the lagoon makes for exceptional game viewing on the guided game drives offered by Duma Tau Camp.

Guests can stay in utmost luxury in the tented camp that offers a private viewing deck at each site. The big sliding doors link the deck with your lavish indoor area. After a game drive you can relax on your bed and watch the birds through the large windows.

In the main area there’s the comfortable dining room, a lounge and there’s also a dining area in the middle of the lagoon!

The solar and renewable energy makes Duma Tau an eco-friendly lodge. Entering the lodge by road is seasonal and depends on the water levels. Fly-in options are available throughout most of the year.

The Linyati Region

The Linyanti region is unique because you won’t find such a variety of ecosystems nearby. The immediate surroundings comprise of lagoons, swamps, riverine forests and grasslands. The ecosystem allows for a multitude of animal sightings. The waterways and lakes are also excellent for water birds and raptors.

Duma Tau Camp is close to the source of the Savuti Channel. The Savuti Channel is an intriguing phenomena, sometimes being dry for years and other times flooding. It’s flow is dependent on the flexing of the earth’s crust, even though it’s so slow that we can’t feel it! The channel is set between two elephant corridors.

Our team can recommend a minimum stay of three to four nights to explore the road less traveled in the Linyanti area. The lodge is perfect for the traveler that does not want to pack up and move on a daily basis. Visitors rave about the friendly staff and delicious food. They can offer both vegetarian and vegan options.
