Muchenje Campsite and self-catering cottages are 7.2 km from the Ngoma gate. This campsite is next to the Chobe National Park and about 60 km from Kasane. With stunning views over the Chobe floodplains. This owner-run camp is a welcome stay for visitors looking for a small lodge or campsite to experience the magnificence of the Chobe National Park.

You are close to the park and away from the main tourist feed. It is a tranquil setting with basic but good facilities. The perfect camp for the self-drives visitor that seeks less crowd. You can see unbelievable sunset views at this camp.

Ten campsites and three self-catering cottages are on offer at Muchenje Campsite, and the self-catering cottages all are under giant acacia trees with ample shade. The sites are all flat and have views of the Chobe floodplains. The camp is enclosed by an electric fence providing safe and secure camping.

There are four ablution blocks with flush toilets and solar-powered hot showers. Outdoor wash-up and laundry areas are also available. A laundry service is available upon request. There is also a sun-downer terrace to experience the famous Chobe sunsets.

Muchenje campsite and self-catering have a small shop where wood, ice, seasonal vegetables (grown in the camp’s garden). You can also purchase meat. The Muchenje campsite is easy to access from Kasane or Namibia.

A tarred road runs through the Chobe National Park from Kasane to the camp. For access further into the park, we do recommend a 4×4 vehicle.
