CHOBE NATIONAL PARK |
This 6 Day Chobe Photographic Safari departs from Kasane. Kasane is directly next to the Chobe River and the Chobe National Park. This Chobe Photographic Safari is as a result the perfect 6-day safari to learn about wildlife Birdlife Photography. This Photographic safari is suitable for all photographers. This safari is the perfect chance to learn about the animals behaviour and then capture this experience while on safari.
Chobe National Park has become a bucket list destination for wildlife photography. Guests can expect to see large numbers of elephant and buffalo while on the boat cruises. The elephant loves frolicking in the river and might even swim through to the islands. Buffalo enjoy the sweet grasses on the islands and occupy these islands in large numbers. Birding while on the river cruise is exceptional. Bee-eaters, fish eagles, jacanas and many more water birds frequent the riverfront area.
On the game drives, guests can experience sightings of lions and if you are lucky leopards. Elephants are often in large herds along the Chobe River Guests can also be surprised with rare sightings of sable antelope and the African painted dog (wild dog)
All photographic activities are conducted in custom-built aluminium boats or an open designed game drive vehicles. The Chobe photographic safari is not aimed at professionals only. Amateurs are most welcome. The guides will be giving tips throughout the trip so as an amateur you will go away learning a bit more about wildlife and nature photography.
The safari includes four photographic activities. The activities on offer are a 4 x 4 game drive in the Chobe National Park and a boat cruise on the Chobe River.

Day 1 |
Kasane – Photographic River TourWe will meet our adventure travellers and wildlife photographers at 11: 00 am this morning at the Coffee Buzz Cafe, main street Kasane. After a brief introduction and some lunch, we will prepare for the first photographic activity of our safari. This afternoon we will go on a riverboat and explore the Chobe River, wildlife and birdlife. The River Trip is an excellent introduction to test your equipment and familiarise with the area and the surroundings. We recommend that you have a zoom of between 150 – 500mm, the same for the lenses that we will support. |
Day 2,3,4,5 |
Chobe National Park – Camping in The ParkWe depart Kasane after an early morning rise and a healthy Breakfast. Our destination is the Chobe National Park, and we will make our base inside the park for the next four nights. Our base will be an unferenced Tented camp with bedrolls, necessary ablutions and hearty meals prepared on open fires. This is the perfect way to explore and discover the wildlife of Chobe National Park. Day 4,5 we will head off to a fixed Tented Camp, just outside the park. We will base ourselves outside the park and conduct daily visits inside the park. The floodplains of chobe and lynyanti will be our views and allow for great birding and landscape photography. |
Day 6 |
Chobe National Park – KasaneWe will head back towards our starting point, after an early morning rise. A well-deserved bed and hot shower await us upon arrival in Kasane. The morning is spent at leisure, and we can relax and digest all our bush experiences of the days before inside the Chobe National Park. This afternoon Lunch is at leisure and own expense. Late afternoon at around 14h00 we will embark on a four hours sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River. |
Day 7 |
Kasane – Chobe RiverOur Final Morning will be a debriefing of the past few days. We enjoy a hearty breakfast at 8:30 and say our farewells before departing to the airport of your choice. You can leave from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Livingstone in Zambia or Kasane in Botswana. |
