The Pangolin Chobe Hotel is not like any other accommodation in Kasane. The hotel is situated on top of a hill so that it has a beautiful view of the Chobe River, and it boasts stunning design and spacious rooms. Beautiful photographs taken by professional photographers decorate the hotel’s hallway. Some of them are the Pangolin Photo Hosts that take guests on safari.

Equally important is the proximity, as the hotel is close to Chobe National Park’s gate. Also, it is close enough to the town to visit without hassle. You will also enjoy some exclusivity as the hotel is entirely hidden from the hustle and bustle of Kasane’s busy street.

The Hotel offers fourteen en-suite, air-conditioned rooms with ample charging points and plenty of space for cameras and laptops. The base of the beds is made from concrete so we cannot push two beds together to form a double. It does not really matter, as the twin beds are both doubles so that each occupant of a shared room does not have to sleep on a single bed.

Each room has a private balcony with a side table to relax and enjoy the views from the plateau overlooking the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplains.

As the entrance to the Chobe National Park is situated in close proximity to the lodge, it ensures that the game drive vehicles are sometimes the first to enter the park each morning. Pangolin Chobe Hotel’s photo boats are moored on the Chobe River right below the hotel, and it is a quick 5 minute road transfer to get to the boats and then straight into the park.

Cameras and lenses are always available, free of charge, at The Pangolin Chobe Hotel. The reception is open 24 hours a day to suit any arrival time.

Timings for all photo activities at Pangolin Chobe Hotel

Each activity lasts approximately 3 hours and sometimes more in the mornings depending on sightings.

NB: These times should be used as a guideline. They are flexible. Each client will be informed daily of the schedule by their allocated Pangolin Photo Host.

Winter: 1 April to 31 August          

AM: Approx. 06h30 | PM: Approx. 15h00

Summer: 1 September to 31 May

Approx. 06h00 | PM: Approx. 15h30

When staying at Pangolin Chobe Lodge, you will be able to do afternoon activities starting 15h00 / 15h30, thus you need to check in at the hotel before 14h00.

On departure day, you will be able to do morning activities starting 06h00 / 06h30 and last for 3 hours, thus you can check out at 10h00.

Photographic Safari Opportunity

Experienced photographers can teach you the trade tricks with their cameras and equipment. Learn how to spot and shoot wildlife in their natural environment with these professionals. Our room rates include this experience and access to the equipment.

General Safari

A general safari is also possible; this is perfect for the family who only wishes to enjoy the wildlife around them. The available safari doesn’t include any camera equipment. This also makes it the ideal trip for the photographer who wants to use their equipment or even make a private tour.

Hotel Facilities

Enjoy the view from the infinity pool with a fireplace in the middle of the swimming pool.

The communal area of the Pangolin Chobe Hotel is the dining area, the pool and the fireplace. Upstairs, the bar area is equipped with all the local drinks, and you can relax on the couches and enjoy the Chobe River view.

As you walk towards the end of the building, you will find the editing room. Here there are 20 editing stations where you can edit your photographs. There’s a large screen available to view your photos.

The Hotel Rooms

The hotel has 14 rooms, each with a king-size bed or twin beds.

There’s a coffee station and a private balcony for each room. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, ample space to store your luggage, plus a safe big enough for a laptop and camera equipment.
