They’ll share fascinating details about the flora and fauna, making your journey both exciting and educational.

A Herd Of Elephants On A Chobe Game Drive

Wildlife Sightings on Your Safari in Chobe National Park

While we can never guarantee specific sightings in the wild, the sheer density of animals in Chobe makes for spectacular viewing. The park is world-famous for having the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, and seeing these majestic giants is an almost certain highlight of any Chobe National Park game drive.

Beyond elephants, you have an excellent chance of spotting:

  • Large herds of Buffalo
  • Playful pods of Hippos along the riverbanks
  • Nile Crocodiles basking in the sun
  • Graceful Giraffes browsing the treetops
  • Vast herds of Zebra and Wildebeest
  • The rare Puku and Red Lechwe antelope

The birdlife is a spectacle in itself, with over 460 species recorded. If you’re fortunate, you may even encounter the park’s apex predators, including prides of lions, elusive leopards, and hyenas. For more in-depth details about the park’s diverse habitats, be sure to review our Chobe National Park information page.

To make your safari comfortable and enjoyable, we recommend bringing the following:

  • Passport: Essential for identification and any border crossings.
