A Chobe Riverfront and Savuti Fly-in Safari that will take you on an intensive exploration of the Chobe National Park. This 6 day Luxury Lodge Safari combines the Chobe Riverfront close to Kasane with the Savuti region of Chobe.
On arrival at Kasane Airport you will be met with a friendly ‘Dumela’, from where a 30 minute game drive transfer will take you Chobe Game Lodge, which is the only permanent lodge situated inside the famous Chobe National Park. This is the perfect location to explore the Chobe Riverfront and Linyanti areas of the Chobe National Park.
Chobe Game Lodge offers forty four rooms and four luxury suites, all overlooking the Chobe River. The spacious lounge areas, various viewing decks, different dining locations and a riverside boma with a swimming pool invites you to relax, where you can enjoy your own space. Or take a walk around Chobe’s boardwalk, watching the beautiful African sunset. The lodge has hosted many famous guests over the years, including Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

During 2010, Chobe Game Lodge proudly introduced ‘Chobe’s Angels’, a groundbreaking all female team of safari guides. Since its inception, these local Botswana female guides have changed the perspective around a woman’s role in conservation and guiding in Botswana, inspiring other lodges in Africa to do the same.
Guests can look forward to early-morning and late-afternoon Chobe game drives in open-sided 4×4 safari vehicles, as well as Chobe boat cruises done with solar-electric powered safari boats, offering silent safaris on the beautiful Chobe River. Chobe offers an abundance of wildlife and is known for the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. Watch as these large herds of elephants and buffalo visit the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to quench their thirst, bathe and play. Chobe Game Lodge also offers frequent sightings of lion, leopard, African wild dog, roan antelope, puku, red lechwe, sable and giraffe.
After a 3 night stay at Chobe Game Lodge, guests depart from Kasane airport with a scenic light aircraft transfer flight to Savute Safari Lodge.

Savute Safari Lodge offers eleven luxurious chalets, each with a private deck where you can immerse yourself in nature, viewing wildlife walking past you to drench their thirst at the waterhole situated in front of the lodge. After dinner, you can relax around the fire deck spotting elephant and the various game at the waterhole. Aspiring photographers can make use of the photographic hide, situated directly in front of the lodge, offering exceptional game viewing and photo opportunities. Or you can choose to just relax around the pool, soaking up the sun, sights and sounds of the bushveld around you.
Game drives are done in open 4×4 safari vehicles, incorporating the Savuti Marsh to give guests the chance to view the historic presence of the Savute Channel that last flowed in 2009, spilling into the Savute Marsh by January 2010 for the first time since the early 1980’s. The Savute Channel flows from the Linyanti River to the Savute Marsh, sustaining the western reaches of the Chobe National Park. It is known to flood and dry at will, regardless of the rainfall or flood patterns elsewhere, intriguing and puzzling geologists, researchers and local communities. It is always a point of interest: ‘When will the Savuti Channel’ flow again? Only time will tell..
After a 2 night stay, you wave goodbye to your friendly local Botswana guide on the Savuti Airstrip, from where you will catch a light aircraft transfer flight to Maun Airport, where your safari will end.

Savute Safari Lodge – Chobe National ParkAfter breakfast you will be transferred to Kasane Airport from where you will catch a light aircraft transfer to Savute Safari Lodge, situated in the heart of the ‘predator rich’ Savuti region of the Chobe National Park. Activities are 4×4 game drives through the Savuti region. Guests can enjoy a visit to the Gutbatsa Hills, an ancient San rock art site, or to Savuti’s ancient Baobabs. Savuti is best known for the Savuti marsh, which is a place with an abundance of water, birds and wildlife. Probably the most well-known is the enormous pride of the lion that has learnt to hunt elephants and almost solely prey on the young elephant in the Savuti area. At Savuti Safari lodge, game drives are the order of the day. Spend two days exploring the magnificent Savuti region, excellent for birding and game viewing. |
